How I leverage AI to automate administrative friction, inject cognitive science, and protect development quality at scale.
The Challenge: Traditional instructional design gets bogged down in administrative friction—manually sorting through massive source documents, drafting outlines from scratch, and enduring the endless, mind-numbing cycle of copy-pasting text into authoring tools.
The AI Solution: I don’t use AI to replace the human element; I use it as a force multiplier. By building an optimized AI workflow, I compressed the entire analysis, design, and development lifecycle into a single 8-hour window—maximizing development speed while fiercely protecting learning quality.
The Process: I fed pages of dense, unorganized raw content into AI, prompting it to act as a master analyst. It rapidly extracted core learning objectives, identified key topics, and mapped out an optimized modular learning structure.
The Result: A highly structured blueprint that served as the foundation for the course.
The Process: Moving from outline to script, I leveraged AI to draft a comprehensive storyboard. To ensure maximum retention, I prompted the AI to anchor the content in the neuroscience of learning, integrating retrieval practice, managing cognitive load, and optimizing emotional engagement.
The Result: A pedagogically sound storyboard designed for how the human brain actually processes information.
The Process: To bridge the gap between design and development, I used AI to eliminate the most tedious step in the industry: manual data entry. Instead of copying and pasting text line-by-line from the storyboard into Articulate Storyline, I used AI to programmatically inject the text directly into the Storyline file.
The Result: With the mechanical data entry automated in seconds, I freed up my time to focus entirely on advanced development, user experience, and high-end visual design.
The Process: Standard authoring tools can sometimes limit creative interactions. To push the boundaries of the learning experience, I used AI as a coding co-pilot to rapidly build custom, responsive web elements.
The Result: Four distinct, highly interactive HTML activities that seamlessly integrate into the learning ecosystem to boost learner engagement.
